Artistic Statement - My painting is a continuous exploration of emotion, perception, and the world around us. I work across abstraction, the human figure, and nature, allowing the subject of each painting to determine its own direction while maintaining a visual language that remains distinctly my own.A recurring element throughout my work is the flowing, undulating line. Forms bend, intersect, dissolve, and transform, creating a sense of movement even within a still image. I use color freely and intuitively rather than attempting to reproduce reality literally. For me, color is an independent expressive force — capable of changing atmosphere, revealing emotion, and transforming familiar subjects into something unexpected.My paintings can be monumental and immersive or intimate and figurative. Some works explore complex questions about women and their place in contemporary society — identity, sexuality, expectations, relationships, freedom, and the roles we are asked to inhabit. Others turn toward nature, the body, animals, water, or imagined worlds. In my large-scale abstract paintings, recognizable imagery may disappear almost completely, leaving movement, color, rhythm, and emotion to become the subject themselves.Despite this diversity, I do not see these works as separate directions. They are different ways of approaching the same fundamental interest: the layers of experience that exist beneath what we immediately see.I am interested in paintings that reveal themselves gradually. An image may initially seduce through color, scale, movement, or the human body, while another meaning emerges through prolonged looking. Abstraction can become meditative; beauty can carry difficult questions; a familiar landscape can become psychological; and a human figure can speak about something much larger than the individual portrayed.I do not believe painting must choose between beauty and meaning, intuition and thought, or representation and abstraction. My work exists in the space where these things meet.Each painting is an invitation to look longer, feel first, and discover meaning for yourself.
